The start date of the Tour de France is approaching, but how are the riders experiencing the anticipation for this great tour? We spoke with Bonifazio and Calmejane of the Total Direct Energie pro cycling team.
A sprinter and a climber, a killer and a fighter: the spearheads that the Total Direct Energie pro cycling team will rely on in its attempt to win a stage at the next Tour de France are raring to get in the saddle for what promises to be a highly adrenaline-fueled event.
BONIFAZIO: READY TO SEIZE OPPORTUNITIES
He already has two victories under his belt this season, both achieved before the lockdown, but he's certainly not satisfied. For Niccolò Bonifazio, the real season begins now, with the dream of reaching the top step of the podium at the next Tour de France. Opportunities abound, especially in the first part of the event, where he'll ride his Miura TS47 evo disc on stages suited to sprinters like him. Here's what he had to say in the video below.
CALMEJANE: ALWAYS ON THE ATTACK
He's already won a stage of the Tour. Lilian Calmejane is the showman, whom the French call a "baroudeur," meaning "fighter," or "adventurer." He'll have to be patient, waiting for the right moment. This could come midway through the Tour, when the great mountains appear on the horizon. We expect him to attack from afar, and deliver some legendary moments. Here's how the twenty-six-year-old Frenchman has prepared for this great tour.
