We've already dedicated a few of our posts on cycle touring to Giulia Baroncini 's experience. For her solo bike ride from Milan to Chicago and back, Giulia relied on a flagship from the Ursus range: TC 37 Disc wheels .

After 8,000 km of road traveled with our products, we asked her for feedback.

Lightness

“Traveling with the gear Ursus provided me was the best. Especially in my case, I found advantages in terms of the lightness of the wheels , because I had to transport the bike in a cardboard box and pack it. I didn't have a lot of total weight, a maximum of 23 kg. The lightness of the TC 37 Disc wheels helped me a lot.”

Resistence

“My trip didn't require any particular performance, so I can't judge the material by that parameter. But the wheels still had great resistance to the weight. In total, the weight of the bike plus that of the bags was almost 30 kg. My weight is an additional 50 kg. So the Ursus wheels supported a significant weight and for a long time, despite being super light. They did their dirty work.”

Comfort and safety

“ I didn't have any problems with comfort or handling either. In fact, I really liked the reflective detail on the Ursus logo, which was helpful for night rides. I generally didn't plan on riding at night, but sometimes I did: for example, it was very hot in Washington, so I went out at night to explore the city. The reflective logo was very useful for making myself visible .”

Aesthetics

“The aesthetic impact of the wheels was also very positive, and that's no small thing when you spend so much time on the bike, which almost seems to become part of your body .”
