A superlight bike designed for the toughest climbs, with disc brakes and cables fully integrated into the frame
Ursus (in its first year of technical partnership with the Direct Energie team) and Wilier have given the French champions a bike capable of propelling them to the greatest successes. A blend of technological and stylistic innovation, a racing product designed to scale the most legendary peaks. The all-Italian combination of Wilier bikes and Ursus wheels is sure to be a talking point in the peloton.
A technological frame
Wilier designers envisioned a frame that best embodies two concepts dear to professional cyclists: lightness and integration. The result of their efforts is a weight reduction of just 780 grams of pure carbon (in the M size with paint) combined with a stiffness-to-weight ratio greater than 24%. A polymer film has been added to the HUS-MOD fiber to increase impact resistance while also dampening vibrations.
The technological package is cutting-edge. The Wilier Zero SLR frame is designed exclusively for disc brakes and can only be assembled with electronic shifting, features that set a new standard of the highest quality in professional cycling. The cable routing is completely internal: this not only makes the bike aesthetically cleaner, but above all gives the rider a safer and more manageable machine.
For the Total Direct Energie team, Wilier has provided a livery in the elegant “admiral blue” color.

A latest generation fork
The fork on the Team Direct Energie bike is asymmetrical. This special design is designed to ensure better control of the forces applied to the disc during braking. It has also been widened to increase aerodynamic penetration and thus eliminate any type of wind noise.
The Total Direct Energie team's fleet of wheels
Terpstra and his teammates' Zero SLR is equipped with several Ursus team edition wheel models. Depending on the type of race they'll be competing in, the guys can choose to mount Miura models from the TS disc (TS37 disc and TS47 disc), TR disc (TR37 disc and TR67 disc), or TC disc (TC37 disc and TC67 disc) series.
The Miura TS37 disc is the carbon road bike wheel model that best matches the climbing soul of this Wilier. It is a classic 24” tubular rim with a medium profile, suitable for endurance-type routes with climbs. Its 50 mm profile version ( TS47 disc ) is an option often used by the Direct Energie team riders on mixed routes with fast sections.
This bike also allows for the installation of the latest 28cm internal channel wheels. These rims are proving popular among professionals, especially due to their ability to adapt well to endurance racing conditions on dirty or wet asphalt. This is the case for races like Paris-Roubaix, the Tour of Flanders, or Italy's Strade Bianche. In these particular conditions, models like the Miura TR37 Disc allow the bike to be fitted with 28" oversized tires. Inflated at lower pressures than traditional tubulars, they ensure greater stability on slippery surfaces. At the same time, they dampen vibrations, ensuring comfort that can make the difference in performance on long distances.
During training sessions, the French athletes choose the Miura TC37 disc for their Wilier Zero SLR. These rims have a 28 mm channel, this time for tubeless and clincher tires. This is an additional option when the convenience of self-repairing tires (or tubes) is preferred over the performance of a tubular.

In conclusion
The team edition of this gem is enchanting for many reasons. The precision of the Shimano Dura Ace Di2 shifting system is extremely responsive and silent. A technically cutting-edge frame is paired with top-quality wheels. The Total Direct Energie team's bike is truly a thoroughbred, blending maneuverability, performance, and riding comfort.
